The students in my virtual classroom are fun, full of energy, and love to come to virtual school each day! They are eager to learn and it shows as soon as they log on. For many of the children, this is their very first time with a school experience. I am honored to be a part of their early learning and to help build a foundation for future life success.
I love being able to provide enriching, hands-on experiences throughout our school day.
The majority of my students are Dual Language Learners and come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The families are considered to be at the highest risk of educational hardships.
I want to ensure I give them a variety of plentiful materials where they can thrive and reach their greatest potential. We foster a sense of community in our virtual classroom where the children feel and know they are loved and an important part of our school family.
My Project
The geoboards will serve multiple purposes. With my students learning virtually, I need to provide them with numerous hands-on learning lessons to keep them engaged and focused. We will use the geoboards to create letters, numbers, and shapes all while working their fine motor muscles.
Fine motor skills are critical to develop in the early years.
The tweezers will be used to pick up various items to sort, count, and build hand eye coordination. The eye droppers will be used for color mixing, predicting, experimenting, and observing. Children love to be little scientists and this tool can be used for a variety of activities throughout the school year.
These tools will help my students increase their fine motor control, develop their literacy, math, and science skills. Your generosity is greatly appreciated as we navigate these different times through virtual learning!
