My Project
As part of the speech team at my school, I work with incredible students with autism and other communication challenges who benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Finding the right high-tech AAC system is crucial for helping these students express themselves, build relationships, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. We need an iPad to access and evaluate a variety of AAC apps during assessments.
By having a dedicated device for AAC evaluations, we can trial multiple apps to determine which systems best meet each student’s unique communication needs.
This resource will help us determine whether a student could benefit from their own dedicated device and which AAC app is the most appropriate.
This iPad will be a shared tool for our entire speech team, benefiting all students at our school who require high-tech AAC assessments. With your support, we can help our students find their voices, enhance their communication skills, and achieve greater independence.
