My Project
My school serves about 98% Black students. Being mindful of this, I want to include more books on my shelves that are reflective of them and their lived experiences.
Please help my students find themselves in literature.
"The Hate U Give" has been a commonly requested book by my students. They are excited to read a book that shares similarities to their lifestyles. Additionally, I included other books in this project by POC authors to appeal to my male students and gay male students. I would like to have as many of my students as possible to make connections with the books on my classroom shelves.
