This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom enjoy reading and writing Poetry. The new curriculum does not include a whole books

Struggling readers will often engage in reading a poem rather than a long book.

When Mr. Ward's students start reading their poems on Open Mike Fridays, they're surprised by what they learn about themselves and their classmates.

My 8th grade students will soon be going to different high schools and having them read this book and become engaged in writing and presenting poetry will be a great way to end the year.
