Finding a Home for Our Books
My students need a place for their books to live while they are busy reading them.
This year I have been a substitute teacher in many different districts where I have supported many students. I loved getting to know many different students, schools and staff members during this time.
Next year I will be getting my own classroom and I am so excited!
As a teacher I look forward to helping students succeed and learn to the best of their abilities. I cannot wait to set up my classroom with hopes of fostering the love of reading and learning!
I am putting together this project with hopes of fostering the love of reading within my classroom. During our read to self time, students will have the chance to not only choose where they read but which books they can read as well.
By having book boxes, students will be able to access their favorite books in half the time.
Book boxes will also reduce the amount of time we spend choosing books and help to increase the amount of time students are able to read to themselves and build their reading stamina. I believe that when students have the chance to choose their own books they are more likely to fall in love with reading.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
