My 3rd graders are finding their voice and independence this year! They will be able to work individually while also working in collaborative group settings with these materials. All parents are connected with the students in real-time while their children are at school via technology. This allows the students to get feedback from both parents and teachers quickly.
Each of my students varies in their academic abilities; the mic/ headphone is one tool to allow for differentiation and moving at a pace that is aligned to their learning.
They will even be able to screen-share projects that we can analyze together. The posibilities are endless. For example, they will showcase oral reading skills (without the potential embarassement from reading aloud to the whole class.) Additionally, they will share their steps for solving math problems, and add voice to arts-integrated projects.
My students will use these headphones with built in microphones to explain their work and submit assignments for speedy feedback from teachers, family and peers. When kids know their audience, they are motivated to work to their very best potential. This family-school communication is next level in this ever-changing technological world!
