My Students

We are a small rural school, where almost everybody knows everybody. Over half of the students are on the free and reduced lunch program, but that doesn't stop us from teaching and learning!

First grade is a great year for learning and we want our students to obtain as much knowledge as they can, and have FUN while doing it!

I work with a team of 6 other teachers, and we work countless hours to provide learning experiences for our students that will be impactful. We work diligently to provide this learning in a hands-on, friendly, fun environment!

My students are a funny, smart, lovable bunch of kiddos. They start each day raring to go with a sense of adventure for whatever school may bring each day. They crave knowledge and are curious about anything and everything!

Our school prides itself on giving our students the best education in all of East Texas. We strive to do the best, and BE the best, with all that we have!

My Project

This year in our classroom, we are utilizing tables instead of desks. This has been great for collaborating and group work, but we have limited space for storing supplies. We are currently using chair pockets, but they have seen a better day! New chair pockets will help my students store their supplies nearby and help us keep our room neat and organized.

Your donations toward our project will help get us organized and on the path to success!

Wobble chairs will give my wiggly students a safe and constructive place to sit. Some students are not able to sit still, and these chairs will offer my students a chance to safely "wiggle while they work", and they will be able to focus on their work instead of keeping their chairs from falling over!

As we work through our math this year, we will need base ten manipulatives to model our work. This project will allow each student to have a set of their own to work with so that they can model problems and gain concrete knowledge of math processes. These manipulatives will tranform a lesson from observation to participation!

The last part of our project is a set of dry erase sleeves. These will be so helpful for working in small groups! Students love to use dry erase markers, and using these would allow for students to enjoy their task, all the while reducing the amount of copies I must make each week!

Learning is our top priority, and all of these things will help our classroom adventure be a successful one this year!
