This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students come from an underserved population. I need to ensure their progress to become independent thinkers so they can be an asset to their community. I have the best job in the world, to make a difference. Each day, I have the privilege of instructing students in core subjects. I want them to solve real life problems and come up with solutions for daily problem-solving.
We are excited to learn CODING with Finch MicroBits in STEM.
We will be doing problem-solving coding skills. The Finch is a programmable robot that brings computer science to life by providing students from kindergarten to sixth grade a hands-on representation of their code.
The Finch STEM coding program will be very useful for our boys and girls who are struggling and have lagged behind because of Covid. They will be using these needed supplies in centers for problem-solving, and these tools will help motivate and ignite my students' thinking. It will spark their imaginations while they are having fun at school and learning math skills to succeed.
We will be excited to learn about math, do challenging tasks, and solve puzzles to boost critical thinking, speed, and accuracy to help math skills become second nature! My students feel as if it is too challenging and stressful to learn and be on task. These materials will make school a lot of fun and keep them engaged and motivated.
