My Students
I teach fourth grade at an awesome Title I, neighborhood school in Coconut Creek, Florida. My students are a diverse group with various learning needs and challenges. Many come from different countries. For many of them English is their second language. My students are motivated by hands-on, real-world, engaging activities. They love reading and math and learning new concepts daily.
We are a Title I school which means that more than 60% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches.
My Project
Learning about financial literacy at a young age will set a good example and path for students to be successful later on in life. Being able to manage money, save, and invest are the foundation for a great future.
These board games will help my students become financially literate in a fun way at their level of understanding.
We will have Financial Friday where we will play board games and learn about financial topics in a creative way. My goal is to make sure that students understand early to guard their credit in order to set them on the right path!
