Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 6th through 8th grade students that are enrolled in my mathematics classes. My school site is situated in an urban community. My students' math skills range in varying levels of mathematical concept development and skill level. My students also range in English language skills from English being their first language to students who are learning the language. The students I service are from low to mid-socioeconomic homes. They are eager learners who strive to do their best!
My Project
It is so important to educate our youth on how to be financially literate and responsible in today's economy. By having access to an iPad, my students will learn how to make money amounts and combinations in a fun hands-on learning way on online platforms. With this technology tool my students will have the means to share their digital presentations on how to save money, allowance tracking and spending, and funding goals on something they need and want. These presentations are preparing them on how to spend responsibly and differentiate between needs and wants. In order to share their google slide presentations, they will need this iPad for research and presentation.
With your generosity and support my students will have this resource to get them paving the way to being financially literate students!
