Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all have different learning styles and needs that we need to help accommodate. We will work together as a classroom family, helping and supporting each other in any way we can.
My classroom has many different learning styles/needs and is predominantly composed of ELL students.
Some of my students are from low economic households and are eager to learn.
My students are constantly curious and have questions about the new culture around them. We would like to continue to foster their thirst for knowledge. My students are thinkers, questioners, dreamers, and, most importantly, leaders
My Project
After a year of eLearning, my students are back in person and excited to learn. Our school has started a school-wide "financial" initiative where they can earn PAWS "money" (tickets) to shop at the classroom store. Students have come up with the idea of creating ornaments, puzzles, 3-D cards, engraving for their personal things so they can buy and make.
These materials will be used by students to showcase their creativity and create prizes for themselves or others who have earned PAWS "money."
This project is requesting a Glowforge and filter. Glowforge will be used to create rewards for students that have earned money from following the PAWS schoolwide expectations. My art students will be able to shop and purchase items with their PAWS money. They can also design and personalize what they bought using the Glowforge. This will be used not only to create prizes for students but for students to design items of their own (some even suggested creating their own prizes for Christmas to take home.) I can't wait to see how creative my students will be.
