My Students

My students are the most caring, unique, and energetic students you will meet. All of my students are diagnosed with different disabilities, and many of them are English Language Learners (ELL) as well. They come from low-income families and receive free, school breakfast and lunch. Despite all this, they are filled with curiosity and are always eager to learn. The students in my class love to engage in fun activities, especially listening to and reading books that take them to a whole new world.

My Project

My students need a lot of motivation to get them through a school day, and one way I help them stay motivated is by giving them points through a reward system. They can earn points in many ways. Some ways include helping others, pushing themselves through a challenge, and completing all of their homework, which also teaches them accountability.

I would love to provide my students with snacks and prizes, which they will be able to earn, depending on the amount of points they have accumulated over a week's time.

Points can easily be changed to a money system, where they will be earning dollars, exposing them to financial literacy. The students will have a menu of choices to choose from which will range in prices. My students will learn how they can spend or save their dollars.
