This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Financial literacy is one category in 7th grade.

How can the students in the math classroom apply this concept when the experience has not been available to them?

Please help me bring that to my classroom. The concept of paying with money and receiving change back is something they are not able to understand and apply. Having this unit will allow them the opportunity to do pretend shopping and pay for their items. What takes place when paying the cashier will help them understand and make the connection to those real-life experiences.

The environment needs to be comfortable to allow them to do their best learning. Headphones will allow them to hear scenarios that in turn will help them with the shopping experience. Thank you in advance.
