My Students

I teach K-12 Mathematics in a rural school district. Many of my students come from farming backgrounds and work on family farms. These students are experiencing real-world jobs that provide excellent trade skills.

My goal, throughout this financial literacy course, is to teach them practical financial skills they will use in the future.

We spend time researching banks, college careers/loans, and investing money. I teach an understanding of insurance, mortgages, and budgeting for the future.

My students are learning financial applications that will enhance their trade skills. This will allow them to begin a future after high school with a wide knowledge of the financial world we live in.

My Project

My students need wireless mice and batteries to use the outdated Chromebooks we share school-wide. These Chromebooks are semi-functioning. Many keys are broken and the keypads don't work efficiently. They don't function consistently enough for the students to maximize their learning.

These mice will allow my students to navigate many of the online resources with ease.

I use a plethora of different websites with my course and students often get frustrated with how difficult our chromebooks are to use. This would be a huge help in making them financial gurus! They will greatly appreciate the donations that lead to their success.
