Financial Literacy, Fun, Food, & Field Trips (ATPE Member)

My students need a cart and two ice chests to help them operate their business. The proceeds from their business helps fund their field trip to Austin.

My Students

My students are very unique! We are a low socioeconomic title 1 magnet school filled with a diverse population that represents over 75 countries and languages.

My students are hungry for knowledge in every way possible.

My students LOVE to learn about the world around them. They are eager to learn the who, when, what, where and whys about Texas. We would like to make their 4th grade history come alive so they can indulge and fulfill that hunger for knowledge.

My Project

We are so excited about the launching of our 4th grade business. We are working on raising money towards our grade level trip to Austin. We will raise funds as a team to help reduce the cost of the trip for our students.We are forming a business that will allow our students to learn basic economic concepts, and financial literacy. They will learn how to apply for jobs, develop teamwork collaboration, critical-thinking, decision making, and problem solving skills. Additionally, they will learn how to set and obtain goals, not to mention citizenship responsibilities.

These materials will help our students achieve their goal by providing them a way to transport the products around the campus to sale to potential customers.
