Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a Title I School, and almost 70% receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a magnet school which requires most students to maintain a B average throughout the year. The students are part of Pre-Med, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Computer Technology programs.

Our students come from the diverse backgrounds of 30 different countries.

This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.

My Project

My students love learning about things that pertain to them. Financial Literacy is an awesome subject I’ve been tying into my math class for years. This year I’m hoping to do something a little different. I would like to be able to give my kids a topic and with the use of the Echo they can look up the information on their own. Alexa can answer their questions and teach them how to ask deeper questions to get the answers they need. Also this gives them an opportunity to work on their research skills. The speaker will be used to allow the class to all hear what Alexa has to say.
