My Project
Financial Literacy is a difficult but crucial skill to teach to second graders. To successfully master it, students need hands-on practice with manipulatives that are similar to the current currency in circulation. Students also need authentic learning experiences to practice using money in real-life applications. I want to provide my class with the tools they need to practice these skills and apply them. They are a bright, inquisitive group of second graders and deserve the best introduction to money and financial literacy.
By donating to our class project, you will be investing in the lives of my students and their future financial success.
The money and games will all be used as we learn to add or subtract dollars and cents, and to practice these skills collaboratively.
Help me give my students a strong foundation for future financial literacy. As they learn about needs and wants, goods and services, producers and consumers, my class will be able to apply the financial skills they have learned and realize that money doesn't actually grow on trees, happen with the swipe of a card, or appear out of ATM's like magic. Work provides income to purchase goods and services, and saving for things we want is a smart financial choice.
