My students are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are learners, thinkers, doers, and dreamers. They are inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.
My students are striving to become successful young adults prepared to navigate the 21st century.
I want to prepare them for a great start. Learning to take care of their financial well being and personal goals are skills that will help them all.
My Project
The personal life management and financial literacy books ordered will help my students navigate towards SMART goals as they plan for life after high school. We will produce a newsletter with articles, tips, and tricks for planning a successful transition from school life to college, trade, and family choices that must be made as they enter the adult world that is coming up quickly for them. After reading and making some preliminary life goals, the students will visit with adults in the community who have taken similar paths in life. They will get an up close and personal view of what life is like for people in roles comparable to the ones the students hope to take.
