Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school with all of the students receiving free lunch. Over 80% of our students rely on school buses for transportation. My students range from 9th to 12th grade and many of them do not have a place to go after school.

I teach Accounting.

My students have been affected by financial problems that their families face. They have taken a special interest in my class as a result.

My students will be expose to many forms of finance this year and years to come. This will benefit the students, their families, and the community. The more they learn about finance the better they will be financially.

My Project

Student centered learning allows students to learn at their own pace without having to catch up or compete with others. My students will be learning and certifying in accounting software that will help propel them into a career. These headphones will allow my students to focus on the content.

It is important for students to develop skills in finance and accounting in order to be competitive in the work force.

My students will not only learn new skills in finance, they will be putting their new skills to the test with friendly competition with other students in the classroom.
