My Project

After years of being a long-term sub in other teachers’ classrooms, I am so happy to have a classroom of my own. I am starting with very little so I want to set up my classroom

to be a welcoming environment where my students can learn and collaborate with their peers.

The classroom had a very old, worn out rug so my first hope is to get a new, bright carpet to welcome my students during whole group instruction. A colorful, clean rug really makes an impact on students in a classroom.

I also have asked for several types of seating for my students. Kids need to have more than just tables and chairs to work on. Flexible seating like cushiony chairs and stools give kids more flexibility, exciting ways to learn, and the freedom to move about the classroom in order to work with their classmates.

Finally, I am asking for books and mailboxes for my classroom to help keep students’ work organized and make it easier for them to get important announcements and papers to bring home to their families.

I work at a wonderful school with such special students. Many of the students in our school come from low income families and I want them to come into a new, colorful classroom with unique and exciting places for them to learn. I want my classroom to feel safe and inclusive for those who may not always feel that way at home. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my project and anything that you choose

to donate will make such a difference to me and my students.
