Final Push: Ceramics is Almost Here!

Help me give my students our last remaining materials so we can start ceramics strong!

My Project

My name is Lizzie Wisdom and I am seeking assistance for our new ceramics program at DIMS in Seattle, Washington. We already have a strong art classroom, and we now have the opportunity to offer the first ceramics-specific class to our students this year!

Our students are brilliant, vibrant, and creative and have so many innovative ideas to share, and I want to give them the opportunity to really express themselves!

Unfortunately, our school and school district do not allocate a budget for purchasing supplies and materials for our art classrooms.

The clear storage bins will store student projects.

The notebooks will be used for sketching, designing, and planning.

The mops and buckets will be used to keep our classroom free from dangerous silica dust.

The small plastic jars will be used to divide up glazes.

The brushes will be used to glaze bisqueware to create colorful designs.

The sponges will be used to clean up at the end of every class period.

The large buckets will be used to wash our hands and tools.

The pencil holders will divide up our supplies.

The clay tools will assist us in creating patterns and sculptural designs in our projects.

The Simple Green cleaner and Kleenex will keep our space clean and free of dust and germs.

The large and small rolling pins and wooden guides will help us roll out slabs of clay to create different structures.

The cornstarch will be used to keep tools from sticking to the clay.

The clay hold cutters will help us create uniform circular shapes in our projects.

These items will contribute to our classroom by creating a functional space with clear systems for creation and organization. Students will gain creative experience, confidence in their artistic abilities, and responsibility for taking care of our space.
