My students need air pumps, sponge filters and power filters for creating aquatic ecosystems.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Biology is a required subject. Marine biology and Environmental Studies is an elective advanced field science course.
I try to motivate students by engaging with the world about them.
Some have never even looked around the outside world!
They love getting outside and are generally excited about learning science and the natural world we live in. Students are more motivated when I combine hands-on science learning and apply to real-world concepts. I love place-based learning and STEM projects to get them engaged.
We currently have twelve aquatic tanks in our science classroom that students are assigned to take-care of, monitor the nitrogen cycle, and ensure their ecosystem is balanced. By learning how to balance and care for their aquatic ecosystem, they are learning about different biological, chemical and physiological cycles.
Having aquariums in the classroom is a highly engaging STEM project, but unfortunately, very expensive.
We need these filters and air pumps to clean our tanks of the ammonia produced by aquatic organisms. These filters will help the students' engineering project is a success and engage them to learn about the world around us.
