Filling the Theater Cabinets

My Project

In an arts classroom, supplies are always being used up quickly. With limited availability to purchase new supplies for students, projects become harder and harder to complete.

This project will resupply the theater cabinets so students can finish out this school year with supplies and have a jump start on next year's projects.

Crayons, buttons, mirrors, felt fabric are all used when learning about costume design. Students learn to both design costumes on paper and learn basic hand sewing skills with supplies like felt and buttons. Mirrors are used to practice hair and makeup skills for show. Cardstock, perspective paper, crayons, notecards, and protractors are all used in the set design unit. Students learn to design sets and build small scale models. Students also learn how to build sets and props using screws, a level, and paint brushes. Replacement lavalier mics and tape are used during performances and when learning about sound design.

These supplies will ensure that students can choose what are they would like to focus in for their final assessment and that the cabinets won't be empty when the new school year starts.
