This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is a resource for over 300 EL students in my school and provides direct instruction to students who have just immigrated to this country. These resources will better the environment of my classroom and provide my students with supplies they are not able to get from home. My students inspire me with their positive attitudes and their efforts to do their best every day and meet the high expectations their teachers set for them.
The resources I am requesting include student materials as well as classroom supplies.
My students are constantly asking for new pencils and folders for their classes, looking to me for supplies to help them through the day, and I do my best to provide them. The school supplies I have requested will allow me to provide each incoming student with the materials they need to excel in their classes and ensure they have access to supplies for any activity. Lastly, the supplies will assist in creating a positive learning environment for my students. I have dedicated myself to making my room a safe and welcoming environment for my students with things like lighting, various seating choices, playing quiet music, fidget toys, and snacks as needed. My requests will help further improve my classroom and allow my students a comfortable learning environment.
My goal for this project is to better the lives of my students while adjusting to school in English. I hope to be able to provide everything these students may struggle to get from home. This project will allow me to provide them with essentials to everyday academic life. My students are a special mix of and this project will enable me to make my classroom an equitable space where they can feel safe to embrace their differences and expand their English knowledge.
