My Project
Our students come to school every day eager to learn and explore and create! Understanding the important role that the arts play in educating young minds, we are a fully arts integrated school. The items on our list will give me the flexibility, as a classroom teacher, to offer my students many mediums with which to express themselves artistically in response to our focused curriculum.
I have planned several arts aligned projects for the upcoming year that are in step with our English Language Arts program.
One project will be to write and illustrate their own book! I would like students to explore oil pastels and watercolor paint as a way to illustrate their books. Giving students the opportunity to practice and explore
Another project I have planned not only aligns with ELA, but it will also demonstrate student knowledge of our science unit on plant and animal adaptations and defenses. Students will be building models, and for that we need a sculpting medium that accepts paint and is easy to use. I've chose Crayola Model Magic for its flexibility and ease of use.
