My students need a selection of books to fill in our series gaps, including The Retribution of Mara Dyer, Moloka'i, and To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I'm the librarian of a Title I high school in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Our student population consists of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students. All of our student body receives free lunch. Many are reluctant readers who read more than two levels below grade level. However, despite the obstacles they face, our students are curious and motivated to learn. They just need more tools to encourage them to do so. They are incredibly creative and talented kids who are determined to make their mark in the world.
My Project
Despite the fact that our library book budget was cut significantly this year, I am determined to provide quality books for my students. Our students have an independent reading period this year, so having more books is a necessity! I have had plenty of requests from students, mostly books that are missing in the series we offer.
With your help, I can provide my students with the books they are specifically requesting, including titles such as The Retribution of Mara Dyer, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and Pretty Little Liars.
My students will appreciate receiving books that they have specifically requested. Thank you in advance for considering the needs of my students.
