it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am amazed how well my students have adapted to remote learning given how abruptly our school closed. They are the definition of grit!
Due to the sudden and swift spread of coronavirus in our area, our schools closed abruptly - without any advance preparation.
The closure was so sudden that students were unable to bring home any textbooks, notebooks, or school supplies. Also, because of the swift closure, teachers were unable to plan in advance, so I could not bring home many of my teaching materials including charts, teacher's guides, books, manipulatives, and general supplies.
My Project
As a special education teacher, I understand the importance of providing scaffolded and structured support for my students. In this age of remote learning, our homes have become our classrooms and receiving the electric three-hole puncher will allow me to keep my lesson plans organized and provide a way to store materials so that they are easily accessible as I teach my students online. The copy of the book "The Birchbark House" will be sent to one of my students so that he can use it for our Reading unit of study. The copy I had originally sent to him was taken from his front step.
Teaching remotely has created holes in our hearts, but perhaps these "holes" in our learning can be filled!
