Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Best practices teach us that students cannot learn on empty stomachs. I teach a group of awesome third graders in a low socioeconomic area of Louisiana. Most of my students will not receive a hot breakfast every morning before school. Some won't make it to school in time to receive a free or reduced-price breakfast.

At least two to three students will need a snack in the morning to get their day started.

I want to give them a snack that will last in their tummies until lunch time.

Students cannot learn when they are tired, hurt, scared, or hungry. With your help I will stock my pantry with items that will help them stay full and focused until lunch time. These snacks will be available to all third graders at my school.
