Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a Food Hub on our elementary school campus. Recently, our community Walmart closed. Many of our families relied on this one large store for basic necessities. Families who walk or use a bus for groceries are even more negatively impacted by this closure. Lately, our beautiful Food Hub cannot keep up with demand. Convenient items such as granola bars and prepackaged snacks happen to go the fastest during our biweekly distributions. I love nothing more than walking my students and their families to our Food Hub, which gives away a variety of fresh, locally grown produce and other non-perishable items. Thank you for helping our families eat! I love your help in feeding my community!
