Each student has their very own headset with a microphone so that they can complete assignments, assessments, and take part in various learning games available in our school district. They have also been able to make some extremely cute projects that are sure to become treasured keepsakes for their parents and guardians. Kindergarten students learn best when they are excited about the tasks and activities they are asked to complete and your donation of headphones, quality paper for crafts, and dot markers have successfully engaged even our most energetic students.\r\n\r\nThe headphones with microphones for each student removes a barrier to equal access to technology in our classroom. We usually ask parents and guardians to provide headphones for their child at the beginning of the year to be used in the classroom. As you can imagine, in these difficult times, some parents just can't afford to make the purchase. Students are currently asked to take computer based assessments in reading and math and with 20-25 students in a Kindergarten classroom, that can become chaotic quickly. Students become easily distracted by their classmates' progress or they turn the volume up on their own device making it difficult for the students around them to focus. The headphones allow each child to concentrate on their own assessment which increases their performance. They also use the headphones to complete lessons and to play learning games on Friday Fun Day. It is amazing how quickly the students learn to use the headphones correctly and carefully once they realize that they are not sharing them. \r\n\r\nKindergarten students LOVE arts and crafts! They get very excited when they work on projects that they take home to their parents and guardians. Astrobrights has quality paper that can be used for those Kindergarten Keepsakes and the dot markers allow their creativity to blossom. Sure, crayons and markers are great, but dot markers are the best!\r\nWe are a Title I school so most of our kids don't get the chance to experiment with art supplies beyond crayons before they enter Kindergarten. \r\n\r\nYour donation is helping our students access technology and explore their creativity. More importantly, they are learning that there are many ways to \"Show What You Know\" in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1757518571364,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-what-we-learn-and-what-we/9504994/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten: What We Learn and What We Love","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Grace","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10096217"},{"teacherId":8812330,"projectId":9905511,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my class in donating art material. I have since moved schools and now teach in Old Town, Albuquerque. Getting my students interested in birds is easy here, as we have a great many of birds on our Bosque (forest) campus daily such as sandhill cranes and geese! The children love seeing the geese on our campus and having binoculars give us a better chance to see these magical birds in a more intimate manner. We have been reading the Wild Robot, in which a robot becomes sentient being and mother to a little gosling. Having these \"bird nerd\" materials has been a wonderful tie-in to our other learning in class. I appreciate you greatly for these fabulous materials.
