My Project

I have a classroom full of 24 energetic and creative kindergarteners who THRIVE on any type of artistic expression. We have been so limited to the use of construction paper, crayons, and watercolors so far this year and these kids are yearning to try something new in the art world!

Each of the art lessons we will be able to provide will help students learn to work as a team doing collaborative art pieces and also be able to explore their own artistic style individually by creative one of a kind pieces.

Using scissors, paintbrushes, and pencils develop their fine motor control and will help them in more areas of education than just art.

We will be making sculptures with the clay, peacocks with the feathers, glow paintings with the paint trays, learning about line, pattern, and resist with the oil pastels, print making, and the cellophane will be used to make faux stained glass. I have seen how creativity through art has helped my students come out of their shells and find their own artistic voice. I'm so grateful for a chance to expand their horizons in this area.

Mrs. Smith will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 3.
