Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The COVID pandemic has caused stress and uncertainty in my students. We are learning remotely and teachers are using various platforms to give information and teaching to their students. My students are in foster care and not sure what tomorrow will bring. I want to reassure them that everything will be okay. They are graduating. They have a future ahead and they deserve to strive and reach for success in life.
My Project
The pandemic has taken a toll on everyone, especially my high school students! They have been missing class and they are feeling stressed and anxious. This has been getting worse every day and I'm so worried about their mental health.
My students are at a point where peer pressure, keeping up their grades, and surviving are so important!
Unfortunately, my students are all in the foster youth program as well as being in a homeless youth program. It's also so important to understand who they are and how important diversity and inclusion is part of their everyday lives. There is no room for racism in school!
They are failing in class and are getting so depressed. I want to encourage them to zoom with their teachers daily and these gift cards are a perfect incentive! Not only will it fill their tummies but their hearts and mind!
