This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a classroom room of diverse students with many creative ideas. They are great troubleshooters and critical thinkers. However, with limited materials, there skills is stuck on paper and in some cases in their heads. Many of my students do not have the resources necessary to apply those creative ideas.
Even though resources are low, all are eager to learn everything they can about today's technological devices.
Children are our future! Helping them to "think outside the box" give them that extra push toward brighter futures and a more successful tomorrow!
My Project
My students will use 3D printing supplies such as the different colors of filament to build 21st century items. With continuous use of the printer and the creation of large projects, filament is used up very quickly. In addition, glue sticks are needed to provide necessary adhesion for the plate to ensure sturdy placement of the item while its printing.
Just like any other product, items become depleted and/or outdated so replacements are needed.
I teach my kids the importance of inventory and having supplies readily available to complete projects. Not having the supplies available could cause a customer to choose another supplier. Not only does it cause disappointment for a customer, but a student could lose interest in completing assignments and I do not want this to happen. Helping me obtain the needed supplies will keep my student moral at an all time high!!
