My Project

I teach a 7th grade class the last period of the day. 7th grade students eat lunch at 10:30 at my school, so by the time I get them, most of them have not eaten for 5 hours or more. They are hungry, and I know it is difficult for them to concentrate on learning if they have a growling belly.

Having access to a snack in the last hour of the school day can dramatically improve the learning that happens.

Helping with this project means providing hungry students with a snack that can help them concentrate and participate in their learning. I have tried to choose healthy options from fruit and granola bars to crackers.
