Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students’ curiosity and open hearts as they learn about cultures different from their own. Even though only a minority of my students come from Filipino backgrounds, our community is deeply influenced by Filipino culture, making this project especially meaningful.

By sharing stories that celebrate Filipino traditions, values, and history, my students will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the vibrant culture that shapes our neighborhood.

These books will help all students build empathy, respect, and pride in diversity, while those with Filipino heritage will see their stories reflected and honored. Through reading, discussion, and creative activities, this project will strengthen our classroom community and inspire students to celebrate both their own identities and the rich cultures around them.
