My students are future scientists, tech innovators, engineers, artists, and mathematicians who are eager to change the world. We are a small university town with a sizable ELL population as well as a Title I assisted school filled with students who are eager to take ownership of their learning and build 21st-century skills.
My students are passionate about learning and your donation will make it possible for them to solve real-world problems through critical thinking and design processes.
They are critical thinkers and hands-on learners who are eager to solve problems and change the world.
My Project
My students need printer filament for our classroom 3D printer. We use Tinkercad to create models that we then print in class. We have printed brackets to hold together our cardboard creations, props for our Wax Museum, geometric shapes, game pieces for our Design a Game Challenge, adaptive pieces for our classroom robots, prototypes for our Pollution Clean Up Challenge, and so much more.
We go through quite a bit of filament as we print, and reprint while working through the engineering design process so it is important to have plenty of filament on hand.
My students really look forward to learning how to design objects in Tinkercad and bringing their designs to life through the 3D printing process. Having extra filament will make it possible for us to bring even more designs to life.
