As part of their design process, they use 3D printers to bring their ideas to life, but the current limitation on filament color options restricts their ability to fully express their vision. With a wider variety of filament colors, students would have the freedom to make their designs more realistic, visually appealing, and reflective of their personal styles or the real-world applications they are aiming for.
Expanding our filament color options will not only enhance the aesthetic quality of student projects, but it will also encourage students to think more critically about color theory and its relevance to design.
Whether students are creating prototypes, art pieces, or models related to STEM projects, the ability to choose from a broad spectrum of colors will allow them to make intentional decisions about how their projects are perceived.
