My Project

This proposal outlines an educational initiative that integrates 3D printing technology with historical studies, focusing on the power of model making and cognitive development. By crafting accurate 3D figures students will not only engage in hands-on learning but also satisfy their innate desire to create, enhancing their understanding of historical significance while developing critical research and technical skills.

Figures are expensive to purchase for whole grade levels; so, the primary objective of this proposal is to "Figure it out" by generating our own classroom resources for historical modeling.

This project fosters creativity through the creation of accurate 3D printed figures for classroom use. Provide hands-on learning experiences encourage imaginative model creation. By accessing diverse learning styles with engaging project-based instruction, students develop research capabilities and technical competencies.

Required Learning Expectations:

Character Studies- Analyze historical figures, recreate their costumes, and prepare engaging presentations. Research phase for every student includes select significant historical figures or events, documenting essential characteristics and gathering reference materials to ensure accuracy. From this research students then engage in project application.

Project Applications:

Historical Dioramas, Models, and Figure boxes: Build scenes that represent historical contexts related to the figures studied, allowing for a tactile exploration of history.

Other options:

Busts: 3D printed busts displayed in a gallery setting.

Timeline Projects: Illustrate sequential events involving the figures, constructing narratives that deepen understanding.

Success Metrics:

Indicators of success will include levels of student engagement, comprehension of historical content, development of technical skills, and completion rates of projects.

Conclusion:

Incorporating 3D printing into history lessons not only fosters exploration and creativity but also nurtures students' cognitive development. By fulfilling their childlike need to create, students will gain a deeper understanding of historical figures while developing essential skills. Funding is sought to implement this project, enhancing student engagement and appreciation for history.
