Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, everyone rallies together to meet the academic needs of our students. We put in the work to ensure that growth is made in the areas of reading, math, science, and even push students to expand their social skills. One of the lesser known needs at our school is food insecurity.
Our Junior High students have an especially hard time requesting food when they are hungry.
With these items, students will be able to come in and grab a snack so that they can continue with their learning throughout the day. Some of these items, like the noodles and beef jerky, could also be packaged into weekend bags for our students facing the most food insecurity.
Our Mustangs are amazing! Students are already facing problems of their own. Worrying about from where, how, and when, they can get something in their belly, is unneccesary. Thank you so much for considering to feed our sweet students!
