Help me give my students snacks, drinks, and a small refrigerator for our classroom community pantry.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Nunez's classroom raised $500
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Being hungry while studying is not an ideal environmental situation. My students are very needy and come from families of limited resources. On a daily basis, I hear students say that they are hungry. I often send them to the school cafeteria to see if they can grab something that would hold them until lunchtime.
Hunger takes time away from our classroom instruction because I have to stop teaching to give them time to go to the cafeteria at all random times.
Having a small fridge and snacks will enable my students to fight hunger until lunch time. This will make better use of our instructional time.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
