My Project
As a high school computer science teacher and technology lead, I am seeking support to acquire a high-powered Apple MacBook laptop. This device will serve as a crucial tool for teaching, managing robotics projects, writing inspiring technology curricula, and coordinating school-wide technology initiatives.
In my course, students engage with robotics and coding, using tablets to interact with programmable robots creating experiences they would not otherwise have had coming from the inner city.
However, a powerful central laptop is necessary to manage these robots, run complex coding environments, and integrate technology seamlessly into the classroom. The students that I serve have a minimal amount of representation in the Computer Science field and success in education due to the lack of technological resources. I am looking to provide them a chance to level the playing field. Additionally, as the school's technology coordinator, I need a reliable laptop to oversee digital initiatives and enhance student learning.
A high-performance Apple laptop will allow me to run advanced coding software for student projects, manage robotics efficiently for interactive learning, and expose students to industry-standard tools in tech and engineering. It will also allow me to oversee and troubleshoot school-wide technology systems and provide equitable learning opportunities to prepare students for STEM careers.
This will help students develop critical coding and problem-solving skills, gain hands-on robotics experience, be better prepared for technology careers, and access a learning environment that mirrors industry standards.
