Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These resources will allow my students to express their creativity in a variety of ways throughout the year. I want students to be able to paint scenes from topics we’re reading in CKLA or Social Studies. This will give them a deeper understanding of the material and make it more engaging. I want to use the scratch boards to make a connection to a topic in our Science curriculum.
The cart and the backpacks will help keep us organized and will give students a specific place to get and return materials.
The students will use the nameplates on our first day to express their identity and interests. Pencils and erasers will be used not only in the day to day, but also to help students in the creative process of making visual art.
Not all students have access to the requested supplies and you will help them have a fun last year in elementary school. It can be difficult for other students, especially as they get older, to see a few students with nice art supplies. Through this donation, you are helping these students to feel less anxiety about having supplies, both the special supplies and the more basic supplies. As a teacher, I will be able to incorporate more art and creative projects into our core subjects because I will already know that the students will have the supplies they need.
