My Project

Our theatre students will have the tools in our new craft room for making props, costumes, scenery, and learning special effects manipulation in theatrical design through your donation towards this project.

Please help our students to create a safe and exciting environment to create crafts through the use of these materials and tools.

From mask-making, costume design, model building, special effects, and other ventures, students will be able to explore their creativity.

We are very excited to create a working craft space that will include a serger and sewing machine for students to create their own costume designs on the stage and participate in skill building projects. Through using the Cricut tools and machines, students will gain the digital skills and have Cricut tools to realize and create their creative set, prop, and costume designs as displayed at the USITT national conference this past spring. The Joy cable will enable us to use our already purchased Joy machine and add a new Maker machine to create fabric patterns, iron-ons, props, and scenery models out of balsa wood and cardstock. In our Unified theatre class, many students lack the needed dexterity to create props, models or other items; however, through the use of computer aided design and the Cricut tools, our special needs students will be able to design and create pieces alongside our design, tech, and intro students to be used on the stage. We have also included two snow machines and snow juice which will be used extensively for our student Christmas and One act projects as well as part of our school -wide production of Frozen next year. This will enable hands-on experience for students on how to use snow special effects in their designs and productions for many years.
