My Students
The loving students that I work with attend school in an urban setting.
I work in multiple Special Education Co-Teach classrooms in the primary grades as the special education teacher.
In the morning the student' smiling faces are what we see when we walk in the door. They are very eager to learn and learn best doing hands-on activities and using manipulatives. They look forward to fun learning experiences every day. These students are an exciting group with mixed interests, abilities, and goals.
My Project
Young learners often have difficulty attending. Students with special needs sometimes have more difficulty focusing and have even more difficulty concentrating on what is being taught. This can lead to behavior and learning difficulties for students in a class.
The items in this project are to help students reach their learning potential in the classroom by focusing on their social-emotional and sensory needs in the school setting and to be successful as they grow.
Using different fidget seats and toys can help increase focus and get excess energy out. During independent work time, students can wiggle on the seats and still be able to work and learn. If students get upset, the Pop It and Liquid Bubbler Toys can help students calm down and regulate. Thank you for helping my students be the best learners they can be.
