Fidgety Hands = Rough Rest Time

Help me give my students fidgets allowing the environment to become a calm space reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

My Project

Today, students are busy keeping up with classroom routines and procedures. They are working to play with peers. They are asked to learn during circle time. We go outside and expect them to play on the playground. We are asking them to do this and so much more all before lunch. Students are physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted as their brain and bodies work overtime to absorb and process everything going on around them.

By providing these fidget boards, students will have the opportunity to choose to rest or to uses these boards quietly.

Not all students need or will take a nap. With the boards, those who do not need to nap (or cannot take a nap) will have a quiet activity to manipulate to keep them busy while others sleep. This allows us to create an calm environment where students can find time to recharge and rest their minds.
