"In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Students see this motivational thought prominently displayed throughout our school. My class of 9- and 10-year old students are bright, thoughtful, and kind.
My students have a wide range of learning abilities, but they are all mastering the art of kindness.
Our school community has evolved into a more diverse population with ethnic and cultural differences. These sweet students embrace diversity with positivity and curiosity, showing kindness to all their peers. Moving from 3rd to 4th grade is a big step in their school experience. They are becoming the "big kids" of the school and are showing their younger peers what it means to be kind and inclusive of others.
My Project
My students are in school over 6 hours a day. Most of that time is spent in our classroom. Like most other classrooms, ours is filled with traditional desks and chairs facing a whiteboard. The problem with this arrangement is that it's not meeting the needs of my students.
Flexible seating options allow students the freedom to move, fidget, or stretch and still remain focused on learning.
With flexible seating, students can have more control over their learning environment. Comfortable seating will help my students enjoy their time in the classroom and focus on learning. Fidgety fourth-graders need seating options to fit their growing needs.
