Fidgets to Focus

Help me give my students pop-its, calm strips, and other fidget manipulatives to help my students focus.

My Project

I am a speech-language pathologist in a Title I School. Many of my students who come to speech-language therapy also have other challenges. Several of them have difficulty paying attention, focusing, and waiting for their turns.

Fidgets can actually help us focus and focusing helps us learn!

During speech and language therapy, the children are learning to wait patiently and quietly while their peers practice their speech sounds or IEP goals. Having fidgets such as calm strips, pop-its, magnet men, and squishies will allow me to develop speech and language lesson plans to address my students' IEP goals. The therapy sessions will be more effective while the students are being attentive.
