The students in my class attend an urban school district with limited financial resources. Most of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them have experienced crime in their lives and find it difficult to come to school. It can be overwhelming to know how to help. They are sweet kids with big dreams. They dream of learning, being successful athletes, helping their families, and reaching their full potential.
Many of these students must overcome obstacles such as poverty and uncertain home situations.
A high-quality educator can make a significant difference in a student’s life. When I look at my students, I see unlimited possibilities. Overall, my students living in poverty are just like other children, but they can encounter limitations and barriers that make it harder to learn, including students whose first language is not English. My main goal is to give each student the chance to have success in school and beyond.
My Project
All the items on my list focus on allowing students to reach their full potential while confined within their classrooms or at their desks. When my students are able to expend their energy and use tools to help them concentrate, they are able to focus their brains on soaking up all that they are being taught.
It's my job to help my students reach their full potential and these tools are essential to their success!
