Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My girls group is made up of thoughtful, funny, growing young women who are navigating middle school with friendships, emotions, identity, and all the messy in-between. This group is their space to slow down, feel seen, and support one another. I want to make it as safe, cozy, and empowering as possible.
This project will help us create a comfortable and confidence-boosting space where girls can open up, connect, and build emotional skills with support, snacks, and self-care along the way.
We're asking for swivel chairs, so students can sit comfortably in a circle and feel more engaged, a CBT workbook for anxious attachment to support emotional regulation and relationship-building, fidget toys to help manage anxiety and promote focus during deep conversations, a cozy coloring book for mindfulness and calm, pimple patches, tide-to-go sticks, and styling cream for little moments of self-care.
The rolling cart is to keep all materials organized and accessible. Snacks are to nourish and comfort during our group sessions.
This group is more than just a meeting, it’s a place where girls feel safe being themselves. With your help, we can create a space where they feel supported emotionally, mentally, and even physically, because little things like a snack or pimple patch can make a big difference in how a young girl feels walking into her day.
