This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Fidgets can be a powerful tool in the classroom, helping students improve focus, manage stress, and stay engaged during lessons. For many learners, especially those with disabilities impacting their social/emotional learning and/or sensory processing needs, fidgets provide a quiet, non-disruptive outlet for excess energy. They support self-regulation, allowing students to better control impulses and maintain attention on academic tasks. When used appropriately, fidgets can create a more inclusive learning environment by accommodating different learning styles and needs. I often find that when my students are using fidgets, they are calmer, more attentive, and more prepared to participate. By integrating fidgets into the classroom, we promote not only academic success but also emotional well-being and self-awareness.
